Choose Your Skin Care Products Carefully

by Kyle Richey

All skin care products are the same, right? You can use virtually any name brand and get the same results since they all promise the same thing right? In reality there are some skin care products that really deliver on what they promise and some that you would be better off just leaving on the shelves. Some may even irritate your skin and cause more problems than you have now.

The question is, how does one know good from bad in the crowded skin care products market? How can you find the products that actually deliver the results that they promise? Its easier than you think, once you know what to look out for and what to avoid.

Your skin is not designed to absorb chemicals, dyes, perfumes and other additives, so its no surprise that these ingredients can cause irritation and breakouts in many. One thing to keep an eye out for when shopping for skin care products is the word hypoallergenic. This means that these products dont contain any ingredients which tend to cause allergic reactions.

Better yet are organic skin care products, which will be free of any irritating chemicals and artificial ingredients.

Skin is also the healthiest when it is fed with vitamins and minerals, so look for skin care products that contain vitamins A, C, and E.

Vitamin A evens out red tones and makes your skin look more even and healthier.

Vitamin C encourages the production of collagen in the skin, which makes it look fresher and younger.

Vitamin E is one of the best natural moisturizers. A lot of skin care products out there have these vitamins; you should seek these products out. Pure vitamin E oil is available and can be used as a moisturizer on its own in addition to your other skin care products. Vitamin E oil will help your skin stay smooth, soft and healthy looking.

You can help your skin care products be more effective by taking other steps. One is to use a humidifier in dry months " a warm mist vaporizer is best. This keeps your environment warm and moist and prevents your skin from drying out as it will tend to do especially in winter. Drinking adequate amounts of water also keeps your skin hydrated and healthy. Drinking water moisturizes your skin form the inside out.

It is also a good idea to keep an eye on your diet. What you put into your body affects your skin and, if you want to keep it as wrinkle-free and healthy as possible, try to eat foods such as fruits and vegetables, since their vitamins and minerals will nourish your skin. Eating a healthy diet full of vitamins and minerals will help your skin care products to do their job too. You can't expect your lotions and potions to perform miracles if you aren't drinking enough water or eating a balanced diet.

Following these steps will pay you back in the best possible way " healthy, glowing and youthful skin that makes you look and feel great.
