DHA And Fish Oil. Breastfeeding Mothers Need More Of Both.

The established benefits of DHA, an essential omega 3 fatty acid, are growing by the day. It is now firmly established that over 90 percent of us have levels of omega 3 essential fatty acids that are too low and we can improve this by daily supplementation with capsules of fish oil. Breastfeeding mothers also have powerful reasons to supplement their diet with essential fatty acids known as omega 3 fats. There are numerous benefits of breastfeeding, and one of the most important breastfeeding tips is the importance of adequate DHA in your breastmilk.

A fetus, right from conception, needs plenty of DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) for proper development. But once the baby is born this demand for omega 3 essential fats continues. And of course for any fetus and for any baby of a breastfeeding mother the only source of essential fats is from the mother.

Studies are now clearly showing the importance of adequate levels of DHA in the breastmilk of breastfeeding mothers. The studies are showing that babies of breastfeeding mothers who supplement their diet with fish oil supplements show much higher scores at 30 months of age on psychomotor development, do better in IQ assessments and have better visual development.

All of these make for powerful reasons for any mother who is breastfeeding to supplement their diet with supplements containing DHA. Breastfeeding mothers are just like the rest of us and generally have levels of omega 3 essential fatty acids that are too low.

This will not be the case if you have an adequate intake of seafood, however this is not generally the case in the US. Most of us eat far too little fish and seafood because it is expensive and also because it is known to be contaminated with mercury.

It is possible to get omega 3 fatty acids from plants however this is a different form of Omega3 fat and is not nearly as beneficial to health as DHA and EPA, the 2 essential fatty acids found in fish oil.

Taking daily omega 3 capsules is the perfect way to supplement your diet with fish oil. Breastfeeding mothers can do this cost effectively and in perfect safety because the best fish oil capsules are entirely free of contamination and can be taken daily with confidence, and at a much lower cost than eating fish.

It's now clear about the benefits of DHA for both the fetus and the growing baby. Breastfeeding mothers can comfortably increase their intake of DHA right from conception, if not before, right through pregnancy and breastfeeding and then after that, both for their own health and the health of their babies.

Remember though, not all Omega 3 capsules are the same. It is important to know how to find fish oil capsules that represent the best value and the best effectiveness.

I tell you how to do that on my website.

Are You Dying Of Omega 3 Deficiency?

Estimates are that somewhere around 90 to 95 percent of all adults in the US suffer from omega 3 deficiency. Omega 3 deficiency is where there is an inadequate level of Omega 3 essential fatty acids in the body.

The 2 main Omega 3 essential fatty acids are DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid). They are known as essential fatty acids because they are not produced in the body and because their presence in the body is important for a wide range of health reasons.

It was originally discovered after studies of the Japanese and the Eskimos that the omega 3 essential fatty acids primarily found in fish were very important to your health. The Japanese and the Eskimos were all very healthy and in particular exhibited very low levels of heart disease, and they ate lots of fish.

But here in America we eat way too much processed foods filled with salt and sugar and too much red meat and way too little fish and as a result most of us are Omega3 deficient resulting in a range of preventable health problems.

These preventable health problems include fatal conditions such as stroke and heart attack. Even the American Heart Association now tells us that we must all increase our intake of Omega 3 essential fatty acids either by eating more fish or taking fish oil capsules.

But a new study has now hammered home the reality, estimating that up to 96,000 Americans could be dying every year from omega3 deficiency. Whilst smoking is still the biggest preventable cause of death omega 3 deficiency is up there.

And it's so easy to prevent a deficiency of omega 3 fatty acids. You can eat more fish though that is expensive and fish is generally contaminated with toxins, or you can take daily omega 3 capsules which are not contaminated and which are much more cost-effective.

Chances are 9 in 10 that you're one of those people suffering from an omega 3 deficiency and therefore at risk of death from a preventable condition. Even the American Heart Association now tells us to get more Omega 3 essential fatty acids inside us.

Not only are there potentially fatal conditions which can be caused by deficiency of Omega3 fats, there are a wide range of other non-fatal conditions which can also be improved, such as depression, diabetes, ADHD, arthritis, macular degeneration, weight loss and much much more.

Gradually science is telling us how important it is to increase our intake of essential Omega 3 fats found in fish oil. I seek on my website to educate my readers on the importance of daily Omega 3 capsules and to explain some more about the benefits of omega 3 supplementation. The benefits may include saving your own life.

But not all Omega 3 supplements are good supplements. You need to know how to compare fish oil supplements to find out which are the best and which represent the best value. Visit my website to find out.

Help On How To Find The Best Cardiovascular Program

by Walther Dalal

Although usually known as aerobic training or cardio workout, a cardiovascular exercise program consists in a combination of training practices that rely on the large use of the leg muscles. The activities as such stimulate both the respiratory and the cardiovascular system, contributing to the increase of the health condition at the level of the internal organs. The main advantage of a cardiovascular exercise comes from the possibility to lose fat at a very accelerated rhythm, plus, not to mention that working out has a great influence for other health problems as well. It appears that the impact of a cardiovascular exercise on the system also involves the normalization of blood pressure too, hence there will be a lower risk of heart attack or failure.

A cardiovascular exercise requires a certain intensity level to be efficient for the heart, although overdoing is a risk you ought to consider as well. You can determine how well you train by monitoring the heart rate. You can either rely on hand measurements or use an electronic monitor for such purposes. There is a normal and a maximum heart rate per minute, you can determine the right value per minute somewhere between 50% and 80%. The success of a training session could depend exactly on this target heart rate.

In many people's opinion, aerobic training represents the best type of cardiovascular exercise. Plus, aerobics also aims at training the entire body, helping one lose weight a lot more easily. A person who focuses on cardiovascular exercise will burn more calories than by using a traditional workout routine. Besides a good cardiac rate, a cardiovascular exercise routine contributes to the health of the whole body system, and this doesn't result from weight loss alone. The lungs improve their function, the flexibility of the joints increases and there is a higher energy level to enjoy.

Don't ignore the importance of adapting diet and lifestyle to a cardiovascular exercise program. An intense training rhythm is normally difficult to carry on with particularly in the case of smokers. Then, without quality food that supplies plenty of nutrients to the body, aerobic training is hard to support. Energy is taken not only from the fat deposits but from the food you eat as well. Therefore, it is important to learn which foods are good for physical effort and which are less efficient.

How Important Is Keeping Track Of Your Heart Rate?

by Colon Bolden

I personally can't understand why people dont keep track of their own heart rate. Do they know its very important and so I had to find out why not? I did a short survey for myself and walked up and ask 10 people off the street do they keep track of their heart rate? Atleast 8 out of 10 people responded with the answer no. I also asked them why not and some responses were "I really don't know"; "Just dont think about it"; "I do when I have a doctor's appointment". One guy told me, "I didn't know I had one", but he was joking and I told him, "I already know the answer to that question". The true fact is people just don't worry about their heart rate.

By you reading this write-up today now ask yourself, "Do I keep track of my heart rate"? If not you can start right now. Get yourself a monitor or you can do it yourself. Much has been made of reaching a particular heart rate especially during execises, a rate that avoids too much stress on the heart and yet provides the desired result. Even doctors dont play around when you visit their office. The first thing they do is check your heart rate before they see you.

Cardiologists which is known as Heart Specialists often suggest that a desirable exercise heart rate is 220 minus your age times 75%. It can definately be difficult to count your pulse but you can check it by counting the pulse in your wrist for 15 seconds and then multiplying by 4.

You may wish to count your resting pulse, perhaps in bed in the morning before you get up. By checking this pulse and that's if you don't have a heart problem and aren't taking a medication is a resting heart rate of about 60 beats per minute. An individual who isn't fit will typically have a resting heart rate of 75 or so.

There are no good medical data to justify particular target heart rates. You may wish to check your pulse rate a few times just to get a feel for what is happening. You should really check your heart rate more offen just to make sure your numbers are basically close to being the same.

In conclusion, if you're exercising and hopefully it's not all out because if you can't talk to a companion while you're exercising, you're working your heart rate too hard. [I:http://www.uniquearticlewizard.com/extras/pics/corobothumb5.jpg]

Panic Attack And Its Causes

by Josh Simpson

Is panic attack something that you know of? If you do, then do you have symptoms such as dizzy spells with panic and a flying heart beat. Are you really freaked out about anything that happens beside you? Are you under the impression that you might always have a heart attack? Have you been thinking too much about panic lately? These symptoms definitely show that you are under stress and you have a panic attack syndrome.

So, what is a panic attack? For most people it would be a phobia of some kind, either towards a particular object or something that can affect you negatively in life. The cause of a panic attack is still quite unknown as different people may react to different treatments, because there are various ways panic can actually attack you.

Other than relaxation techniques like breathing and exercises, treatments like psychotherapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy are considered important because they help in getting the patients understand their disease and take care of it themselves. It has often been found that psychotherapy alone can cure your disease, because this helps in reducing your fear towards the object that causes you the fear.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy on the other hand helps people to handle and deal with their panic symptoms and uses various forms of breathing and muscle relaxation techniques. Patients are also constantly reminded that panic attacks do not cause heart attacks, because this is a common feeling among all who suffer from panic attacks.

One of the medications that are common is anti depressants because this helps in reducing anxiety and even the severity of panic attacks. If you have been suffering from panic attacks then you must have come across medicines like Prozac and Paxil, which fall under the SSRI group of medicines. SSRI or serotonin reuptake inhibitors has often been considered the most frequently used medication for treating patients going through a panic attack syndrome. Doctors say that it is best to always start of with a small dosage and then slowly increase the dosage for this disorder.

The prevention or rather the preparation of panic attacks is definitely in the hands of the patient. One of the main priorities for patients suffering from panic attacks is to understand the reasons why the attacks happen and take medication accordingly. One must also breathe deeply to help soothe ones nerves. One should always avoid stimulants like caffeine r coffee as they have an adverse effect and can get you more panicked. It is important to realize that the therapy times and there so such cure which is fast and short. One should never be too critical of themselves and be prepared for any attacks that might just happen. The above mentioned tips can really help you prepare for a panic attack and identify the symptoms which would later lead to medication.
