How To Handle An Old Grouch
Having an allergy isn't just a bother; it can actually wreak havoc on your entire body and even affect your moods, as Dr. Anju Mathur has seen. She runs the Angel Longevity Medical Center in Los Angeles, and talks here about what you can do to stop allergies from taking over.
A food allergy, to a food commonly eaten, puts your immune system on alert all the time. Because the immune system has to work overtime, the allergy causes internal body damage and certainly makes a person feel grouchy.
Because the immune system is always on alert, the body cannot relax. A person can feel grouchier and grouchier. Eventually a body consumes all the fuel used to run the immune system and adrenal fatigue occurs – the adrenal glands just don't work anymore.
It's a dwindling spiral. The person is less able to handle stress, and then becomes irritated about not being able to handle it. Other people begin to stay away due to the constant complaints. The hormone called cortisol, which enables a body to handle stress, decreases as allergies increase, and the situation worsens.
Attack on the Body
A continuous allergy, whether it is a food allergy or something in the environment, causes a constant inflammation in the body. It's like having a constant attack on the body under the surface. Cytokines are released due to the inflammation. Cytokines are particles released because of inflammation, and they are poisonous to the body.
There are tests which can determine the cause of the allergy, food or environmental. In most cases the allergy can be deleted and the person recovers. Most importantly with food allergies, a person can be tested for metabolic type, as individuals have different metabolic types. A program can be designed to give the individual the food and nutrients needed for his or her metabolic type.
There are several different kinds of metabolic types of bodies, and each one requires different kinds of food. The metabolic type of the body determines the kinds of food that best serve the body. People that have one metabolic type body may become allergic to foods that nourish another metabolic type body.
Wheat and milk commonly cause allergies. Often food that is consumes every day becomes an allergy. Perhaps one isn't allergic to burgers when young, but after eating them day after day an allergy develops. It is very important to have a varied diet so that such allergies do not develop. But if the allergy has already occurred, there are still solutions to handle it.
At Angel Longevity Medical Center, individual programs are designed to help a person avoid allergy causing foods and consume the food that will make him or her healthy. Of course, medical testing for allergies and metabolic type are done first and these determine the course of action. But there's no need to be miserable and be an old grouch. You can become happier and have a healthier body.
You enjoy your life more when you feel better! Have the energy and vitality that you had in your 20's and 30's. Find out more now – go to Angel Longevity Medical Center

The Many Benefits Of Allergy Free Foods
If you have a food allergy, you know that it is essential to avoid the allergen that you have a reaction to. You also know how quickly adverse reactions can occur, and how serious they may become. No matter how careful you are, allergens can be found in products where you least expect them. One of the benefits of allergy free foods is knowing precisely what you are getting in the products you eat.
It is estimated that two percent of adults and from four to eight percent of children suffer from food allergies. Also, the number of younger people who have them seems to be increasing. Approximately 30,000 Americans each year are taken to hospital emergency rooms because of severe food allergy reactions. So, it is very important to closely manage this condition, and the best defense is avoidance of the substance that causes an allergic reaction.
Allergic reactions to food usually occur within a few minutes to an hour of the food being ingested. Symptoms can be as mild as an itchy mouth or as severe as anaphylactic shock, which can be fatal if untreated. There is no cure for food allergies, though children often do outgrow them, as adults also do sometimes.
There are eight substances that are responsible for ninety percent of all food allergic reactions. They are milk, egg, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, soy and wheat. Some foods, such as fish or shellfish, may be easier to avoid than others which are used as ingredients in other foods. Milk, egg, soy and wheat are extensively found in a variety of processed foods. Peanuts are also used in many other foods, such as Asian sauces and candy, and can cause a severe reaction in those sensitive to them.
In a major step towards protecting consumers, in 2004 the United States passed a law requiring food manufacturers to include allergen information on their product labels, with regard to the eight most common substances. While this was a significant measure, it did not extend to requiring statements by manufacturers regarding the possibility of cross-contamination caused by processing different products on the same equipment.
While some food manufacturers do include such cross-contact information on their labels, there may still be risk associated with buying foods produced for the general population. Sometimes only a minute amount of a food allergen is needed for someone to have a severe reaction to it. Foods produced specifically for food allergy sufferers have a greater probability of being safe to consume.
When in doubt about the safety of a particular food with regard to allergens, one can contact the manufacturer with questions concerning ingredients or cross-contamination. Foods produced by companies focused on allergen-free products may provide a higher degree of assurance that their foods are safe. One of the benefits of allergy free foods is, along with physical safety, greater peace of mind in knowing that you and your family are at lower risk for food allergic reactions.
